a home with a story

The Stone Cottage at Spring Farm

Also adjacent to Spring Farm, but tucked away in it’s own private corner, is The Stone Cottage.  Built in 1860, it was one of the first stone homes in the community. The mason was paid “a young steer and 2 dollars a day” to lay the thick stone walls, and the cottage has retained its sense of history and permanence.  But it has been recently restored, enjoying all the modern conveniences that we have come to expect. Enjoy sitting on the front porch, watching the quiet ways of Spring City. When combined with the Farmhouse you can have your own private escape at the cottage while having full access to the rest of the farm..... the lavender field, the pumpkin patch, the stream and the open grassy area.  The Stone Cottage is a wonderful way to experience the tranquility of Spring City and to relish the simplicity of days gone by.

With a large bedroom and one bathroom, The Stone Cottage sleeps 2-4 guests, unfortunately we can not allow more.  If you have a larger group, combine your rental with the adjacent Farmhouse (sleeping 16) or Hollyhock House (sleeping 9). No tents or campers allowed on the premises.

This historic home was cozy and comfortable, with plenty of character. We loved our stay here... they have put a lot of thought into comfort and style when preparing this place.
